Have a nice day!

I wish you a very happy day – at least as happy as this lady’s day! She is going for a drive with her doggie in her heartsy car having a nice cup of tea and enjoying the ride…. This sketch is watercolor with ink on paper,size 30 x 40 cm.
Os deso un día muy feliz – al menos como el de la señora! Ella se ha liado la manta a la cabeza y está de paseo con su perrito en su coche de corazones disfrutando del día…. Este dibujo de mi art journal mide 30 x 40 cm y la técnica es acuarela en papel.
Ich wünsche einen schönen Tag – mindestens so schön wie der dieser eleganten Dame hier! Sie fährt gerade mit ihrem Hund in ihrem herzigen Gefährt spazieren und geniesst den Tag… Eine Zeichnung mit Tusche uns Aquarell aus meinen Skizzenbuch, 30 x 40 cm.

Elegant ladies…

Just in time for spring, this elegant lady comes out to get some fresh air, she is sitting right on the beach already to be sure to get her suntan really fast! It’s a watercolor drawing from my sketchbook, size 30 x 40 cm.
Nada más empezar la primavera, esta señora elegante se ha instalado ya directamente en la playa, para asegurarse su moreno fashion! Este dibujo mide 30 x 40 cm y es acuarela sobre papel.
Gleich nach dem Frühlingsanfang hat sich diese Dickmadam bereits am Strand platziert, um garantiert die erste braungebrannte Dame am Ort zu sein.Die Zeichnung misst 30 x 40 cm und ist Aquarell auf Papier.

Spring is round the corner – and in my sketchbook

As the days get longer and the air already starts to smell of springtime, everybody likes to enjoy themselves outside. To get in shape for summer, the goats here in the mountains like to practise their favorite sport, some kind of hillbilly aerobic, it looks like they have a lot of  fun, doesn’t it? It’s another drawing with watercolors in my sketchbook, maybe one day it turns into a painting?

Los días cada vez son un poco más largos y el aire empieza ya a oler suavemente a primavera. Esto es el comienzo de la operación biquini de todos los años. Las cabras aquí en la sierra de Madrid están en plena actividad practicando su aerobic montañés. Un dibujo de mi libreta que algún día puede convertirse en un cuadro grande….

Langsam werden die Tage immer laenger und der Fruehling liegt buchstaeblich in der Luft. Das ist jedes Jahr ein Zeichen, mit der Fruehjahrskur zu beginnen, um im Sommer in Form zu sein. Die Ziegen hier in den Bergen bei Madrid sind eifrig dabei, ihren Lieblingssport, das Bockspringen zu ueben: eine Zeichnung aus meinem Skizzenbuch, vielleicht wird ja mal ein Bild daraus…..

A trumpet with details

Sometimes, some parts of the whole taken on their own are really nice and have a great quality to them – it’s the strokes and the little details that have their own magic of abstraction in this watercolor sketch, today I wanted to pay attention to the details…
A veces, las partes que componen un todo, cogidos por ellos mismos, demuestran una calidad especial , las pinceladas, y las manchas de agua desarrollan su propia magia abstracta en este dibujo de acuarela. Hoy quería prestar especial atención a los detalles…
Manchmal haben die Teile des Ganzen, separat für sich genommen, eine besondere Qualität, so zum Beispiel die Pinselstriche und Wasserflecken dieser Aquarellskizze, die eine besondere Magie bekommen, wenn sie abstrakt für sich wirken. Heute wollte ich mal besonderen Wert auf die kleinen Details legen….

waiting for spring: more rope dancers

The inspiration for these happy and elegant rope dancers are all the swallows that are about to come back soon to their headquarters , and soon they will be populating again all the wires and cables around town, busy building their nests and catching bugs and having their happy conversations….
La inspiración para estos equilibristas tan contentos y elegantes a la vez, son las golondrinas que vendrán de vuelta pronto, me encanta verlos volar, balancear, buscar moscas, dar vueltas y todo esto mientras charlan alegremente entre ellas.
Als Inspiration für diese animierten Seiltänzer dienten mir die Schwalben, die ja bald wieder hier einfliegen werden, und dann wieder wie jedes Frühjahr, angeregt schwatzend auf den Kabeln sitzen, elegante Runden fliegen und ihre Nester renovieren.

Ash Wednesday….

Well, carnival is over – here are two of the last partyers crawling home 😉 I think, most of us know how that feels – let’s hope they get a good rest and are back into shape soon – here in Spain there is still the sardine’s funeral to celebrate…. Have a good day everybody!
Y ya han terminado los carnavales – aquí hay dos de los últimos festeros arrastrándose hacia casa – creo que todos sabemos como se siente uno en esos momentos ;-). Esperamos que se recuperan pronto, les queda aun el entierro  de la sardina….  un buen día a todos!
Und schon ist die fastnacht vorbei  – hier schleppen sich grade noch 2 de letzten Festhupen nach Hause – wir wissen ja wohl alle, wie man sich in diesen Momenten fühlt 😉 Hoffen wir sie ruhen sich gut aus und sind bald wieder fit – hier in Spanien wird ja heute noch die Sardine beerdigt …. Einen schönen Tag an alle!

Happy Mardi gras!

Today’s drawing is about the fifth season of the year: Carnival! As I live in Madrid now, there is not a lot of carnival, and these days of the year I miss the parties going on in Riedlingen/ Germany where carnival is a party for everybody celebrated in the streets of the little town. Today, Tuesday is the last and most active day  🙂
Hoy es mardi gras, el día más importante de la quinta temporada del año, del carnaval! Como  ahora vivo cerca de Madrid donde no hay mucho Carnaval, por estas fechas siempre me acuerdo de las fiestas que se celebran en las calles de Riedlingen /Alemania. ¡Un pequeño homenaje!
Heute ist Fastnachtsdienstag, de wichtigste Tag der fünften Jahreszeit! Wie jedes Jahr, seit ich hier in der Nähe von Madrid wohne, vermisse ich auch heute wieder ein bisschen die Riedlinger Fasnet, deshalb heute eine Mäschkerleszeichnung  und ein kräftiges GOOOOOLE!

You are my mirror

The typical tool of the jester is a mirror. He makes us look at ourselves from outside – and often it is because of this shift of perspective that we see this until the very moment so horribly serious situation in a completely new – and often times – quite funny way…. that’s why today I send you a jester 😉
El instrumento típico de un bufón es su espejo. Nos hace mirar a nosotros mismos desde fuera, como un expectador. Y gracias a este cambio de perspectiva vemos esta situación que nos parecía hasta justo ahora tan seria y alarmante de manera completamente distinta, y muchas veces bastante graciosa. Para no olvidar esto, hay hay un bufón…
Das Werkzeug des Hofnarren ist der Spiegel. Er zeigt uns unser Bild von aussen gesehen, wie ein Zuschauer. Dank dieser neuen Perspektive sehen wir dann plötzlich dass diese furchtbar ernste und wut auslösende Situation auch ihre – meistens sogar lustige – andere Seite hat. Zur Erinnerung heute ein Hofnarr….

a drawing – a story

Today’s drawing illustrates the story of two very talented air acrobats rehearsing for their big  show, when a little bee just passes by and stopps in the middle of the air, awestruck and saying sssoohhhmmmm….., while it sticks its trumpet in the air.
El dibujo de hoy cuenta de dos acróbatas del aire conocidos por su gran talento están ensayando, cuando pasa una abeja y se queda parada en el aire de tanta admiración, y ya solo sabe decir sssooohhhmmmm ….
Das Bild von heute erzählt von zwei sehr talentierten Luftakrobaten üben für ihre nächste Vorstellung, als ein Bienchen vorbeikommt, und vor lauter Begeisterung mitten in der Luft stehenbleibt, und nur noch sssooohhmmmmm…. sagen kann….

new sketchbook… libreta nueva… neues Skizzenbuch

It’s always exciting to start a new sketchbook! -And it’s kind of scary, too – you want to do it really well this time but as soon as the first fuck-up occurs, the nerves are getting calmer and you can enjoy playing around again….
Siempre mola empezar una libreta nueva para dibujar, y también da un poco miedo – pero en cuanto hayas hecho el primer dibujo algo regu, ya se normaliza la cosa y uno puede pasarselo bien jugando con los colores y los trazos…
Est ist immer aufregend, ein neues Skizzenbuch anzufangen, und macht auch ein bisschen Angst – aber sobald der erste Murks drin verewigt ist, hat man wieder Spass dran, so richtig ausgelassen mit Farben und Formen zu spielen….
