Dwarf and his coffee-pot: mixed media in 3D
a picture a day … el dibujo del día … mein Bild des Tages
Dwarf on the road … Gnomo de viaje — Zwerg unterwegs
This dwarf is prepared for a long walk, got it’s coffee pot with him and moves quickly along. Another moving painting that’s doing several movements while you are turning a handle. It’s done with acrylics on wood (70 x 100 cm), the mechanical parts are metal, wire, cardboard, wood and string.
Dwarfes like espresso….. Gnomo cafeinado … Zwerge mögen Espresso
The little dwarf scuttles along and didn’t want to join the parade without his tiny coffee pot. This is one of the last paintings of the second parade series , a few more to come….
The garden markers are dressing up!
Beauty weekend for the KNOWMO garden markers: I’m doing tests with different surface treatments, the black surfaces are ready to write on, I rusted the steal of some and varnished it afterwards, and others I just varnished to avoid rusting.
All together, they are now sitting on my backyard bench while they dry out, and I thought they are a nice crowd worth a group photo… which one you like best?
KNOWMO, the first useful garden gnome is here!
These gnomes makes you know more, that’s why I decided to call them KNOWMOs.
I had them made out of steal and the first few already started their jobs, standing next to the freshly planted seeds and helping to remember what was planted where.
The markers are of normal steal and will be rusty within some time, what will give them a nice vintage look, and I think the rusty color will contrast nicely with the fresh green leaves that will (hopefully) grow around them soon….
I’m doing some experiments with different surface treatments… Which one you like better?
Have a good week, and remember: spring is on its way…
This year, plant your own vegetables and herbs!
It’s still a bit early, but we are preparing our seeds to be planted within a few weeks. Because this year, we will have our own herbs and some veggies that are difficult to buy. We got some really interesting seeds at Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds, check it out!
But there is no great garden without a garden dwarf, is there? So I present you the little helpers that are keeping the whole thing organized.
Most are made of galvanized steel, and some hold your note or even the seed bag, so you always know what care the seeds need, and what you planted.
Others are painted with chalkboard paint, so that you can write on them what you planted, and when. These are more abstract, and they are available in two sizes, whereas the big one allows you to hang the seed bag on, too.
…. if you really like the little gardendwarfs with their red hats, maybe yo will like this up-cycled model, where a chalkboard combines with a mini-dwarf that watches your garden grow.
Maybe these little friends inspired you to think about planting your own stuff this year 😉
It’s fun!
