Stories of insect life…..

Now in springtime they are back, humming and buzzing around: bees, mosquitos and a lot of other insects, so I decided to do some sketches about these little fellows.
Ahora en primavera están todos de vuelta, volando por el aire y de flor en flor, las abejas y también ya están los mosquitos por ahí, yendo de brazo en brazo ;-). Decidí hacer unos dibujos con acuarelas de estos pequeños animalitos.
Jetzt, im Fruehling sind sie alle wieder emsig unterwegs und brummen von Blume zu Blume, oder, im Falle von Mosquitos auch von Arm zu Arm 😉 deshalb beschloss ich, ein paar Skizzen zum Thema Insekten su machen.

Another page of my sketchbook, painted with watercolor and oil pastels I just got they are nice and smooth to draw with! This picture has a fairytale touch to it, a little conversation between two little fiends….

The first birds are back from their winterholidays

As springtime goes on, the first birds are coming back from their winter shelters and start looking around for a nest, and for a mate for the summer…. This inspired me to do some more bird sketches, they’re watercolour, wax crayon, and ink on paper, the size is 30 x 40 cm and here goes a very decorated one that is single mother and really wants to find a bird in her life this year, although she is not so sure, who the father of its egg is – any idea?

Con la primavera, vuelven poco a poco los pajaritos de sus vacaciones de invierno, y empiezan a buscar nidos, y por supuesto parejas para este verano…. Viéndoles, me inspiró para hacer más dibujos de pájaros, en acuarela, con ceras y con tinta china. El tamaño es 30 x40 cm. La primera es muy elegante y decorada, es madre soltera y este año quiere buscar novio sin falta, ya que se está preguntando, quien puede ser el padre de su huevo – alguna idea?

Wie jeden Fruehling, kommen auch dieses Jahr so nach und nach wieder alle Voegel aus ihren Winterquartieren zurueck, und sind munter unterwegs, sich ein Nest und natuerlich auch einen Partner fuer den Sommer zu suchen. Ich beobachte sie gerne und wieder einmal haben sie mich zu ein paar Skizzen inspiriert, mit Aquarell, Tinte und Wachskreiden auf Papier (30 x 40 cm). Der erste ist alleinerziehend und hat sich in Schale geworfen, um diesen Sommer einen Partner an Land zu ziehen…. Was nicht so ganz klar ist, ist wer wohl der Vater des Eis ist – irgendeine Idee?

Spring is round the corner – and in my sketchbook

As the days get longer and the air already starts to smell of springtime, everybody likes to enjoy themselves outside. To get in shape for summer, the goats here in the mountains like to practise their favorite sport, some kind of hillbilly aerobic, it looks like they have a lot of  fun, doesn’t it? It’s another drawing with watercolors in my sketchbook, maybe one day it turns into a painting?

Los días cada vez son un poco más largos y el aire empieza ya a oler suavemente a primavera. Esto es el comienzo de la operación biquini de todos los años. Las cabras aquí en la sierra de Madrid están en plena actividad practicando su aerobic montañés. Un dibujo de mi libreta que algún día puede convertirse en un cuadro grande….

Langsam werden die Tage immer laenger und der Fruehling liegt buchstaeblich in der Luft. Das ist jedes Jahr ein Zeichen, mit der Fruehjahrskur zu beginnen, um im Sommer in Form zu sein. Die Ziegen hier in den Bergen bei Madrid sind eifrig dabei, ihren Lieblingssport, das Bockspringen zu ueben: eine Zeichnung aus meinem Skizzenbuch, vielleicht wird ja mal ein Bild daraus…..

waiting for spring: more rope dancers

The inspiration for these happy and elegant rope dancers are all the swallows that are about to come back soon to their headquarters , and soon they will be populating again all the wires and cables around town, busy building their nests and catching bugs and having their happy conversations….
La inspiración para estos equilibristas tan contentos y elegantes a la vez, son las golondrinas que vendrán de vuelta pronto, me encanta verlos volar, balancear, buscar moscas, dar vueltas y todo esto mientras charlan alegremente entre ellas.
Als Inspiration für diese animierten Seiltänzer dienten mir die Schwalben, die ja bald wieder hier einfliegen werden, und dann wieder wie jedes Frühjahr, angeregt schwatzend auf den Kabeln sitzen, elegante Runden fliegen und ihre Nester renovieren.

I decided to do some drawing and experiments in my sketchbook, and started a series called “a picture a day” Here’s one of the fist drawings with water colors, ink  and wax …. He decidido empezar una serie pequeña de dibujos y experimentos con colores y formas. Se llama ” un dibujo por día” y aquí hay uno de los primeros…. A painting that moves … un cuadro que se mueve … ein Bild , das sich bewegt

Today I want to present you the first example of a series of moving paintings. It is done with acrylics on wood and its size is 70 x 100 cm. The mechanics are mostly wires, screws and threads.
Each of the wheels can be turned and something happens to the ladybug … Got curiosity? watch the video…..

Hoy, os quiero presentar el primer ejemplar de una serie de cuadros con movimiento. Esta hecho con acrílicos sobre madera, y mide 70 x 100 cm. Los elementos mecánicos están hechos de alambres, tornillos e hilos. Cada una de las ruedas se mueve, y la mariquita hace algo…. Tienes curiosidad? mira el video….

Heute möchte ich Euch das erste Exemplar einer Serie von beweglichen Bildern vorstellen. Es handelt sich um Acryl auf Holz und misst 70 x 100 cm. Die Mechanik besteht zum groessten Teil aus Drähten, Schrauben und Schnur. Jedes Rad lässt sich drehen und bewegt etwas am Marienkäfer … Neugierig geworden? Seh Dir den Video an….

Deer on a the move … Ciervo de viaje … Hirsch unterwegs

The deer didn’t have to think very much, it quickly got its backpack and is following the parade happily – it’s seems they march towards a fun place!
El ciervo no tuvo que pensarlo mucho, cogió su mochila rápidamente y está siguiendo a la procesión – parece que la marcha es divertida!

Der Hirsch überlegte nicht lange, schnallte sich flugs seinen Rucksack um, und folgt der Parade nun fröhlich – es scheint ein lustiger Marsch zu werden!
